PERTH SINGER NIC ROLLO STRIPS IT BACK WITH ACOUSTIC SONG 'EVER KNOW YOU'

Less than a year into his solo career, Perth singer and producer Nic Rollo has already amassed tens of thousands of Spotify streams and support from community radio for his second single “Show Me What Hurts’ and secured a Spotify editorial playlist and radio play in the US and UK for his latest single ‘Feel’.
After releasing his debut EP 'What Happened to the Kid' in September, Nic is dialling back his usual polished production and bringing it back to the basics with a heartfelt acoustic song; showing off his songwriting and voice. Recorded and mixed at Blackbird Studio in Perth by WAM nominated engineer Dave Parkin, Nic said “[that] I recorded 'Ever Know You' playing guitar and singing at the same time. There’s errors in the song, but rather than covering them up we just embraced them for what they were”.
This willingness to embrace flaws helped Rollo present a more vulnerable side of himself than he usually does in other tracks. This honesty and introspection is what makes the music so compelling to listen to. Rollo explains that the track is about "the doubt which follows the breakdown of a relationship, and how this can make you feel like you didn’t know your partner as well as you thought".
With musical influences ranging from David Bowie to The Weeknd, and a combination of organic and digital sounds largely self-produced, Nic’s music stands out as “Hugely impressive, atmospheric and emotive”, says Aza Bojangles from Lowdown Under.
Ever Know You was released on the 8th of November and is available on all streaming platforms.
